BRIEF: To design a map of Melbourne that showcases how close to the CBD and other attractions that Swinburne is, as well as give a sense of the vibe of Melbourne as a place to live.

A few colleagues had requested that I move the Swinburne campus closer to the CBD, and not necessarily stick to exact distances/proportions. I felt that this approach was a little dishonest, so instead I create this style to enlarge the building significantly so that the centre of the building represented their location on the map, but visually they look closer to the city.

I researched all of the key tourist destinations and added them to the map. In particular, I know that from my own conversations with international friends just how much they want to see Australian animals, so I made sure to include the penguins at St Kild and kangaroos at Yarra Bend!

Overall, I think the map turned out as a success and is visually engaging and informative.
