BRIEF: Create/design an online store, design products, and market/sell them to my intended audience.
During Melbourne COVID lockdown, as a passion project I decided to create an online store. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I personally know how difficult it can be to be "out" – specifically in the workplace. Having conversations where you have to specifically come out can be awkward, so I came up with the idea of having tasteful rainbow products that can be placed on your desk, as a subtle but not over-the-top way to be out.
For this project, I created custom rainbow designs, sourced international suppliers, setup an online store, and ran a series of Facebook and Instagram targeted ads.
The website design was fully responsive, and I also developed a range of rainbow icons to sort the products.
Sadly, some of my suppliers (based in USA) suffered greatly from COVID, with extremely long production times (5 weeks+). As such, I decided to put the online store on pause for a while. But, soon, I plan on starting it up again!
